5 Ways Web Video Marketing Can Make You The Guru Of Your Niche

In December I got a copy of Camtasia Studio 3 when Techsmith offered it for free for a limited time. Of course I had to play with this new software as soon as I could and I started to make some screen capture videos of my Internet marketing activities.

I found that the videos were fun and easy to make but I also learned that they are highly effective marketing tools.

Which got me to thinking about the reasons I think web video marketing is the wave of the future online and why the next generation of gurus will be web video gurus.

1. Web video marketing makes a personal connection

When people hear your voice and see you they get a stronger connection to you and feel that they know you. After watching Dave Guindon’s videos, for example, I feel like I know the guy and we could go have a drink at a local bar. And hey maybe he and I’ll hang out if I ever visit his hometown.

That personal connection builds trust and if your information is good this makes you an expert in your viewers mind.

2. You can show instead of tell

Many people like to be shown what to do instead of just told. And it’s so much easier to watch something than to have to imagine it.

That’s why TV has always been more popular than books. People prefer to watch their entertainment, education or news.

With web video you can finally give people what they’ve been asking for. Your viewers can actually watch someone upload a site to an FTP server and learn that way instead of following a boring set of written instructions. You can now show someone your newest traffic pulling strategy instead of just explaining it.

Sometimes when people see something done, it all of a sudden feels a lot easier to do. When that happens they’ll thank you for it and want to learn more from you.

3. You can show your proof

One of the things I love about marketing with web video is that you can actually show your proof live. A few weeks ago I got a web video ranked in Google’s top ten for an important keyword.

I just had to do a screen capture of it and a tutorial on how I did it right away. Why? So I could show viewers that I had that ranking on the video.

I just searched under the term I was ranked for and captured the whole thing on video. This proved that I was telling the truth but was also fun to watch. In an article you can only tell them what you did and do a small screen shot as evidence. It still works but it’s not nearly as exciting.

4. Google loves web video and will rank recent videos on the first page even for competitive keywords

People were impressed that I could get a top 10 ranking in Google for the competitive keywords “web video marketing” in less than 24 hours.

I was able to do this for two reasons. A) These video websites have high page rank and B) Google spiders them constantly because thousands of videos are added to these websites every hour.

So when you post a video Google finds out about it within minutes and lists your video immediately.

5. People are still impressed by the simple and easy editing tricks you can do with web video like fade out transitions, and adding cool music and other effects

Because most people have no idea how easy it is to create web marketing videos they are still impressed by simple editing tricks.

You can learn them in just a few hours and be ready to create your own impressive web videos. One ebook that teaches some of these tricks can be found at www.tubetrafficmethod.com

Conclusion

Five Tips to Getting Free Traffic In Less than 30 Minutes

I know it sounds unbelievable but if you have a blog you can drive free web traffic to it in under 30 minutes with the following easy to use tips.

1. Get free web traffic by getting an account at Mybloglog.com

First go to Mybloglog.com and set up an account. When you do make sure you list your website in your About Me section and most importantly that you upload a photo to your profile. This sets the stage for the other web traffic tips to work.

2. Join Communities to get more web traffic

After joining Mybloglog.com you’ll notice a communities link near the top. Click on this link and you’ll find a list of communities. Click on any community that relates to the topic of your blog and join. When you do, you’ll find that your profile shows up as one of the newest members of the community. If it’s a popular community you’ll get clicks to your profile some of which will check out your websites.

3. Visit popular blogs with a Mybloglog.com badge to get even more free web traffic

Each community at Mybloglog has a main blog it’s linked to. If it’s a popular community it usually has a popular blog. If you visit that blog you’ll find that it often has a Mybloglog badge on it. And on that badge is the picture of recent visitors who are members of Mybloglog. If you’ve followed the steps above you’ll notice that your picture is there. You’ll find that some visitors to this blog end up clicking on your profile every time it shows up.

4. Add comments to popular Mybloglog blogs to get links and traffic to your site

Another way to get free web traffic to your site is to leave comments on the blogs you found in step 3. Just make sure that your comment is relevant to the post. And if your comment is insightful you’ll find that some people read it and want to visit your blog to learn more about you.

5. Add contacts to your Mybloglog account

When you are logged into Mybloglog you’ll find a search box near the top on the right-hand side. To find a person you may want to add as a contact, enter in a keyword phrase that relates to your blog. I typed in “make money online”.

After you do this you’ll, find profiles of members that have an interest in the topic you typed into the search box. Click on any of them to add them as a contact. When you do they’ll see your profile the next time they log in. Some will get curious and decide to visit your profile and your web site.

How I got a new website listed in google in under 24 hours

In the old days, I remember that it took months to get listed in Google and the other major search engines like and Yahoo and MSN (and when I say old days I mean 2 or 3 years ago).

Everyone used to say, just submit to the search engines, get sites to link to yours, just wait and a few months and your site will get listed in Google… eventually.

Well, that’s the way it used to be.

But now there are faster ways to get listed in Google.

Just a few days ago, I set up a new website www.nlpvid.com

Of course when I set it up it had no traffic and of course no listing in Google.

To get the site listed, I decided to take one page of my new site and post it on www.digg.com.

You can find the post by clicking here.

Derren Brown Digg

About 30 minutes or so later I checked google to see if my site nlpvid.com was listed.

Of course it wasn’t.

But that post in digg.com was already listed in Google.

I posting several other pages to digg.com as well and they all got listed in Google in minutes.

Then when I checked 19 hours later I found my site by doing a search on “nlpvid.com”.

Then a day later my site was #4 in Google for my main keyword “nlp vide0″.

This technique is the simplest and fastest way to get a site listed in Google that I have found so far.

Try it yourself and let me know how fast you get results.

Keyword Research Tool: Google Adwords Keyword Tool

One tool you absolutely must use if you are going to find all your most important tools is the Google Keyword Tool (also known as the sandbox).

Google Adwords Keyword Tool
Type a keyword into the Keyword Variations box (keep “Use synonyms” checked) then hit “Get More Keywords.” And Bingo! You’ll get a massive list of keywords some of which you’ve probably never thought of. You can sort them by how often people search for those words too.

Keyword Reserch Tool: Google Suggest

One cool tool I didn’t know about until just recently is Google Suggest.

You can find it at http://labs.google.com/suggest

Type into the search box and a list of suggested terms comes up.

I used the tool to help me find more keywords to advertise for a fear of public speaking program I’ve been marketing for almost a year.

I found a few long tail keywords I hadn’t thought to use before.

Web Traffic Tip that Boosts Traffic While Saving You Time and Money

Two weeks ago I was feeling stressed out about all the things I had to do.

I’m working with an artist, a video editor and others to create a program for an employer who wants to distribute it online when it’s done.

There are dozens of elements to put together.

And I was feeling that with all the other projects I needed to do and the employers deadlines that there just wasn’t enough time.

Then I was reminded of the film”The Pursuit of Happyness.”

In this movie Chris Gardner played by Will Smith applies for a job at a brokerage firm.

To get the job the over 40 Gardner has to compete with dozens of recent college grads in getting brokerage clients.

He has no experience or education in this field and can only work until 3pm while his colleagues work until 9pm.

And to top it all off this “job” doesn’t pay, so Gardner still has to spend time making a living with other work.

Despite these challenges he gains so many new clients at the end of the six months that no one else was considered for the position.

How did he do it?

He figured out creative ways to save time and powerful ways to use his time better.

As I thought about how I could spend more time marketing my sites online, while keeping up with my employer’s expectations, I remember Chris Gardner’s story and decided to get more creative with how I used my time.

I got our video editor on Google Talk so he and I could talk in real time as he edited video so I could answer his questions faster.

I set my e-mail account to notify me by cell phone when he and our artist send me e-mails so I could speed up communication.

I created standard checklists for both of them and for myself so we could all work more efficiently on routine tasks.

Things started to go much smoother after that.

I don’t know how many hours I saved.

I then thought there’s got to be a way to apply this idea to Internet Marketing.

I knew that social bookmarking, blogging, internet video, podcasts and other New Media could dramatically boost my internet marketing efforts… helping me to bring in lots of traffic to my websites.

However I didn’t know how I could possibly tag every social book marking service, set up podcasts on iTunes and all that quickly and efficiently.

And as I was reading my e-mail one morning I found a solution.

An Internet Marketing program that does all that, literally at the push of a button.

In fact it’s the very program I used to build the website you are reading now.

It’s called BlogI360 and it automates almost every aspect of my business (I still haven’t figured out how to get it to write for me yet, but I’m still working on it :) )

It bookmarks each blog post in the top 14 social bookmarking sites, it automates the creation of my podcasts, RSS feeds and it makes publishing video easy…

It does so many things that I would have to write pages and pages about it.

I figure that so far it’s saved me about 27 hours of work on those tasks if not more. And I’m sure over the next few months it will save me hundreds of hours and help me to build my business much faster.

Would you like to build your business more quickly?

If so visit BlogI360 and take a test drive.

If you decide to try it out make sure you use the coupon code “ONEDOLLAR” so that your first month costs only a buck.

You won’t find a better deal than that.

6 Ways to Reduce Your Adwords Costs while Increasing Sales

Part 2

4. Find your competitor’s keywords

Some people think this technique is sneaky or unethical. You be the judge.

What I do is visit my competitor’s websites. Then I right-click on the page and choose ‘view source’ from the menu that appears.

Then I find their meta description and keywords. I check to see if I have any of these

keywords in my campaign. If I am missing some words I create a campaign for them.

This technique might seem obvious to those of you who have been using Adwords for a while but I am often surprised to see how many people don’t use this simple method.

5. Use all three Google match types: Broad, Phrase, Exact

Google gives you three different ways to list your keywords: Broad Match, Phrase Match and Exact Match.

When you list a keyword as broad match your ad will show up any time someone types in those words in any order and no matter what other words are typed in as well.

For example, if I am advertising for the keyword ‘ring tones’ using Broad Match then my ad will be triggered when people type in ‘ring tones’ ‘awesome ring tones’ ‘ring awesome tones’ ‘ring tones awesome’ ‘tones ring awesome’ and many other variations as long as the words ‘ring tones’ are somewhere in the search phrase.

The ads can also show up for singular/plural forms ‘ring tone’ and synonyms ‘ringers’.

When you advertise using the same keywords using Phrase Match your ad will only show up if someone types in the phrase ‘ring tones’ with words before the phrase or after the phrase.

‘Awesome ring tones’ or ‘ring tones awesome’ but not ‘ring awesome tones.’

When you use Exact Match your ad will only show up when someone types in the exact terms of your search ‘ring tones’ in the exact order and with no other words. The ad will not show up for ‘awesome ring tones’ or any other variation.

Why is this important?

Because the Exact Match and Phrase Match words often cost less than the Broad Match terms (not always but often). This can lower your ad costs. Also, Exact and Phrase Match both deliver more targeted visitors. The ads may show up less often on these terms but they often have a higher CTR which increases relevance to Google and lowers ad costs even further.

So to increase traffic AND reduce ad costs always use all three match types.

(You can tell Google which you want by leaving your keywords naked ‘ring tones’ without the quotes for Broad Match or “ring tones” with quotes for Phrase Match or [Ring Tones] in brackets for Exact Match.)

6. Use your keywords in your ad

This may seem obvious but if you do a search on Google for almost any term you will find some ads that do not have the keywords in them.

This is a mistake as my testing and the testing of others has found that this often leads to lower click-through-rates which increases your ad costs dramatically.

Plus you are getting fewer visitors to your site.

Put your keywords into the title of your ad whenever possible. And when it is not possible put the keywords into the body of the ad.

More people will click on your ad and Google rewards ads that have your keywords in them by reducing your ad costs.
